With the 400c fishfinder, Garmin gets down to the basics: finding fish. The 400c is versatile, powerful and expandable. The control unit is outfitted with a 4 inch full color QVGA display that boasts a 320×240 pixel resolution. The 400c is as easy to read and operate at night and low light conditions as it is in broad daylight thanks to a backlit keypad and the monitor’s night mode function.
The versatility of the unit is evidenced by a choice of two different transducers: either dual beam or dual frequency. The dual beam sounder provides optimum visibility over a wide range by emanating two sonar beams that reach out to 60 degrees from the boar while reaching depths of up to 900 feet. Alternatively, the 500 watt dual frequency sounder produces one narrow beam that can reach fresh water depths of up to 1500 feet! Choose your weapon.
The 400 c has exclusive features such as Ultrascroll which provides continuous screen updates when the boat is moving at high speeds. Fish can be detected an identified while the boat is at rest as well as when the angler is actively navigating the waters. And with CANet, the 400c has an expandability option that allows for its connection to other fishfinders and GPS chartplotters on the boat. In this way, all sonar information that it gathers can be shared an viewed at multiple locations for a truly integrated and robust marine navigation system.
Right out of the box the Garmin 400c is ready to go. Garmin prides itself on producing easy to use marine equipment that doesn’t compromise on quality, efficiency, and usability. The 400c only builds upon this legacy and proves itself to be a great value and a sound investment for today’s angler.
