Humminbird made it very easy to be a smart shopper when they introduced the 500 series. The 570 DI is a perfect example of more bang for your buck. With the Humminbird 570 DI you will be able to fish like a pro regardless of your skill level. The powerful sonar and excellent display leave nothing to the imagination.

The DualBeam Plus Sonar that comes standard with the 570 DI offers a wide, precise view of the fish and structure. Gain accurate detailed sonar images by viewing the 20 degree beam and expand the width of your bottom profile with the 60 degree beam. Use the beams individually or side by side to locate the fish you want to catch. Combine the beams together to give yourself an ultimate viewing distance of 500ft deep with a width equal to the depth.

With the 570 DI the underwater world comes to life on the high resolution 5” screen. With a 640 X 320 twelve level grayscale display, you are shown each fish and structure in exact detail. Alter your returns based on water and fishing conditions with SwitchFire technology. Opt for max mode to see complete coverage including thermoclines and currents. In rough or shallow water, change the view to clear mode and only display fish and structures. Change the color palette to work with any lighting situation.

Take advantage of this fish finder by using Down Imaging and Switchfire technology. Using the 570 DI you will be able to see any fish, log, boot, or anything within the units depth limit. Using Down imaging technology you can track a jig down below 60 feet and separate fish that are closer than 3 feet apart. If you are using Down Imaging then the maximum depth is 250 feet. If you go with the normal 2-D then you can see into the water as deep as 1,000 feet. With 300 watts RMS and 2,400 watts peak this thing will get you the images that you need to make your “job” easier.

The 570 DI is very easy to use. Menus are very easy to navigate around. The unit looks nice and works flawlessly. The price is very right for this fishfinder. The features and technology put into the 570 DI makes this a very smart buying decision. My only concern with the 570 DI is that the grayscale display does not look as fancy as color displays.

This fishfinder works well in the standard sonar mode. The down imaging is not as good as advertised, I was never able to get nice pictures they show in the ads.

This unit failed right out of the gate. Out on the water the depth stayed on 4 ft. The screen only displayed indecipherable garbage and when I left the unit in the sun condensation appeared inside the monitor. Maybe it was a defective unit. I will try getting a replacement unit and see how that goes. I am very disappointed.

Had it for two years and hate it. This unit is crap. The mount release sticks making it almost impossible to remove it without damaging the unit. Then the screen will randomly go blank requiring a full reboot and several minutes to get it back going. I highly doubt I will ever buy another Humminbird product. Highly disappointed.

This unit works great when powered on a separate battery from the engine and trolling motor! Otherwise you get a great deal of interference.

2 years I’ve had the 570 DI, and two years I’ve been repeatedly frustrated with the unit. From simply changing modes without me doing anything, to ‘rebooting’ for no apparent reason, to frequent problems with condensation inside the screen (which Humminbird says is not a ‘defect’ and therefore wouldn’t take it back to fix the problem), to ‘losing’ the settings I’ve entered from my last fishing trip (sometimes after just a couple of hours of being turned off), and the overall poor performance of the down imaging function, I’m just pretty damn disappointed with Humminbird products and customer non-service, all the way around. Went back this year to the old Lowrance I previously was using, which was five + years old when I got the Humminbird 570 to ‘upgrade’. All I upgraded was Humminbird’s bank account, and cause myself a lot of headaches. The Lowrance units I’ve had are easy to operate, the functions are very intuitive to switch and adjust, and I spend my time fishing rather than screwing around with this piece of junk. Humminbird, several years ago, put out a quality product. This unit, however, is junk, and a waste of money. Hope the new models they replaced it with are better than this one. I’ll never know because my next ‘upgrade’ will be a Lowrance – which has never let me down. I urge prospective Humminbird customers to very carefully consider buying anything Humminbird produces.

Had this unit for 4 years now? But it has very few hours on it. It is acting up, not marking fish and misreading depth and while the system status says the unit is ok the simulator will not boot up. So am inclined to think it is a finder problem rather than a transducer issue. There are other posts on the net about similar issues with this model so it would seem that Humminbird has a design issue. Would not recommend this manufacturer.
