The waterproof LS6100 from Furuno is small and compact but carries a lot of muscle for its size. With 2400 watts of peak to peak power, it provides all of the performance needed for fast and accurate identification of fish targets. The 6 inch lcd screen reproduces the sounder findings in gorgeous detail with its 240×320 pixels of resolution. Ten levels of backlight adjustments and five different color palettes provide ample contrast and illumination in high and low light situations.
The LS6100 has some real processing power under the hood as well. With what Furuno calls A-Scope, the unit essentially determines what objects are directly beneath the sounder. Both vertical and horizontal images are drawn simultaneously allowing the user to pinpoint structures and fish targets quickly. The Whiteline feature determines relative hardness of the underlying bottoms. Varying shades of white color clearly delineate between hard surfaces and the fish targets that are sitting near them.
The fish targets can be found at up to 3000 feet deep with the LS6100. Combine the power that the unit has right out of the box with an optional GPS antenna (BBGPS or BBWGPS) and you have a very versatile fishing system. The LS6100 has internal storage for up to 12 waypoints that can be used in tandem with the GPS functionality to navigate to virtually any previously visited location of the user’s choosing at any time. Further expansion can be attained via the NMEA connectors which allow the LS6100 to control various speed and temperature sensors. Furuno has all of your current and future needs covered with the LS6100.
