The Humminbird 959ci HD DI is built around an HD TFT display, which has a diagonal measurement of 8 inches. The quality of the screen—as well as the greater-than-normal width-to-height aspect ratio (16:9)—allows you to boost your on-the-water performance due to enhanced whole screen or split screen viewing.
The Humminbird 959ci HD DI bears the “DI” designation due to its Down Imaging feature that displays everything below your boat in near photographic quality. The range of this technology is a remarkable 350 feet. The unit also provides traditional sonar capability with 600-feet depth range. With its Dual Beam PLUS feature, you can use the Humminbird 959ci to take a view with narrow and wide beams. These beams have angles of 20 degrees and 60 degrees, respectively. The narrow beam is optimized of bottom detail, while the wide beam provides greater coverage for finding fish. You can select one of the two for individual use, put them side-by-side or combine them into one display for the most comprehensive picture. Optional is the QuadraBeam PLUS, which provides full 90-degree coverage with two fan-shaped 35-degree beams. With QuadraBeam PLUS, you not only have a view of below the boat, but of the sides as well.
The sonar power of the Humminbird 959ci is combined with another standard 900 Series feature: a 50-channel GPS. The 959 comes preloaded with Humminbird ContourXD, a cartography package that has more than 3,000 U.S. lake maps stored in its database. It is a basic map so be prepared to purchase additional chats if you’re planning on using the GPS. Included in the box are the control head, transducer with temperature sensor, mount, power cable, unit cover and transducer mounting hardware. You can get a great deal on Humminbird 959ci HD DI here.
