Humminbird 570 Review

humminbird570

The Humminbird 570 is a powerful yet affordable sonar and fishfinder that uses Humminbird’s unique Dual Beam technology and delivers incredible and detailed images on the standard ultra bright 640 x 320 5 inch 12 level gray scale black and white screen. This screen is fully adjustable and works well in all levels of sunlight.

These images are then interpreted by the Humminbird 570’s Fish ID+ software to identify what elements on the screen are fish and even has the ability to estimate the size of each fish. This information is presented on the screen as fish icons with a number noting the relative size.

Included is a quick connect and disconnect mounting system and the controls on the unit are simple to use and easy to learn. This is a unit that delivers all of the information needed with one hand four button operation.

This 2000 watt peak to peak sonar system is ideal for any user that needs a well priced sonar and fishfinding solution. The no compromise technology is designed for ease of use and built for maximum results. The Humminbird 570 also includes water temperature information as well as available speed display all of which are accessed with through the Humminbird’s X-Press menu system making this unit ideal for those that a quick learning curve and maximum results.

This unit has an excellent screen – a whopping 640×480 resolution, very impressive for a budget fishfinder. The display is clear and crisp. I’ve bought about 8 different fishfinder models over the last 15 years, it seems that the technology is getting better and better every year. This model is by far the best value for me.

Fishfinder works fine except for depth not consistent, i.e. mostly showing 1.5 or .2 or .3 or .5 all the time, sometimes briefly showing correct depth, very frustrating experience.
