Review of Humminbird 1158c DI
| Overall Rating | No Ratings |

I have been out fishing with the Humminbird 1158c DI tracker religiously after I bought it. Each time I have been blown away with the extreme detail that is provided on the 10.4 inch screen. It has a clean 600X800 pixel resolution that works beautifully with the LCD screen. This is all available at a reasonable price when comparing to similar products before I made my purchase. It comes with a one year warranty so you can make sure that it is the right product for you before you keep it for good.
The SwitchFire sonar is one of the best features working at 200kHz-83kHz and works great with both the LakeMaster and Navionics Platinum chart plotters. Dual beam compatibility allows the data to show up with greater accuracy during sampling. It only works to depths of 250 feet to 600 feet so I recommend using it in shallow ocean and larger lakes. At least these are where I have had the most success with the capabilities of the Humminbird 1158c.
The precision GPS receiver ensures that I know where I am at all times and provides accurate data on the screen, ensuring that my casts hit their target location at a higher frequency. I can honestly say that I have had a greater fishing experience with the Humminbird 1158c DI since I started using it on my boat. Of course I don’t get a bite every single cast, but that is to be expected regardless of the hardware you use.
I do suggest you take advantage of the dual SD card slots to get the most out of the data processing power of this fishfinder. With this you can easily load multiple data sets or switch between different third party data products with ease. The reliability of the Humminbird 1158c DI is well above average in my opinion!

0hi i had this very syestm. and it was very excellent. I also had the map card which showed the depth for the gulf of mexico. It was excellent very accurate. Warnings sounded as they should it also had the feature linked to the marine radio that then you hit the distress buton it radioed your location. You really have to read the manual and practice with it. It does very well in desening fish below the boat as well. we checked it ans over some of the man made reefs in the gulf you could see the structures on the depth finder and see the fish in the water as they swam under the boat and were picked up by the fish finder. As with all gos and depth finders its only as excellent as the user. The first coupe of times out I was initially impressed but when i went to the lowrence site and downloaded the simulator and practiced learned how to use it and wow what a difference. It was simple to curriculum and simple to follow and very simple to curriculum way points and excellent fishing spots for next time. the speedometer gathering was far more accurate than the boats speedo.
